We are a community led museum, focusing on our geographical area, and exhibit for several local societies. School Holidays see activities for children every day we are open. Contact us for our events or school provision leaflet. Erewash Museum features exhibits related to Decorative and Applied Art, Social History, Archives, Fine Art and Archaeology. Key themes, people and exhibits in the museum include: Norman Whitehead, Robert Lindsay, West Hallam and Stanton.
Dating back to the late 18th century, Dalby House, which later became a museum, is constructed of red brick with painted stone dressings, sill bands, a dentilled eaves cornice, and a Welsh slate roof. It features three storeys and three bays. The ground floor has a projecting parapet and railings, housing four segmental-headed sash windows. Each upper floor’s middle bay has a blind round-arched window with a keystone, while the middle floor’s outer bays boast Venetian windows, and the top floor features Diocletian windows, all adorned with keystones.
